The EB-3 Visa Program Application Process

woman working on laptopSo you’d like to become a registered nurse in the United States. Where do you begin? Look no further; in this blog we will outline each step of the application process for the EB-3 Visa Program at Interstaff.

The EB-3 Visa Program is designed for Internationally-educated nurses who would like to move to the US as a registered nurse. If you are from Canada or Mexico, a US territory, or if you are currently an international student at a US nursing school, please see our Programs Page to find the program that fits you best.

EB-3 Visa Program Application Steps

Step 1: Gather your documents.

You will want to gather the following documents so you can have them ready to submit during the application process:

  1. Your valid nursing license.
    • Your nursing license should be a clear front and back scan, or a clear photo. Please include the entire document. It cannot be expired. It must be written in English.
  1. Your up-to-date CV.
    • Your CV should include:
      • the names of your hospital(s),
      • your employment dates in each position,
      • Your unit/specialty history and current unit,
      • And a list of current responsibilities and skills.

Step 2: Submit your initial application

The initial application will collect your basic information, and will ensure you meet the minimum requirements. It’s quick and easy to fill out!

Click here to complete your initial application.

Step 3: Complete the Pre-Qualification form

Within a day of submitting your initial application, you will receive an email requesting you to fill out the Pre-Qualification form. This form is where you will provide us with more specific information about you, to help us have a better understanding of who you are, and to have a great interview with you if you proceed.

This is where you will upload your documents (License and CV).

If you have passed the NCLEX, there will also be space for you to submit your NCLEX exam results or US license. Please make sure that if you are submitting NCLEX information, that you do not forget to include your active nursing license from the country where you currently work. We need both documents.

Step “3.5”: The Language Screening

Sometimes, applicants are sent through an additional step before their interview called the Language Screening. This screening assesses a nurse’s English proficiency, so that we can make any necessary recommendations. This is part of Interstaff’s larger English Language Program, which is designed to boost our nurses’ skills by developing their English before coming to the US!

Step 4: Schedule your Interview

Your information and documents will be reviewed by our team after your submission.

If your documents and background information are all approved, then you will be sent an email within three business days to schedule your interview using the provided link.

Please schedule only one appointment. We’re excited to meet you!

Step 5: The Interview

You can expect a call to arrive via WhatsApp. We are aware that WhatsApp does not always function well in each country, and our team is prepared to adjust accordingly. You are welcome to reach out to us at recruiting@interstaffinc.com if you have any questions or concerns regarding interview connectivity before your appointment.

Prepare: Read our blog posts about the interview and interview tips to learn how you should prepare!

Step 6: Interstaff Reviews your Application

At this stage, our team will take your educational background, prior and current experience, your interview, and any other relevant factors into consideration while we review your application. Often, we will be ready to offer an agreement to you upon completion of your interview, if you qualify.

If we request any additional information from you after your interview, please respond to our requests as promptly as you can. We will be eager to move you forward, and we hope you’re eager too!

Step 7: Sign your Agreement!

Once you have received, reviewed, and signed your agreement, Interstaff will verify and sign the document, and your EB-3 process will begin.

If you make it to this stage, CONGRATULATIONS! We are excited to work with you, and look forward to partnering with you on this journey.

That is the complete application process to the EB-3 Visa Program at Interstaff! We would love to have you a part of our community of U.S. Registered Nurses! If you are ready to begin your USRN journey, you can apply here.
