We are proud to celebrate three Interstaff nurses who were recently honored with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses® from The DAISY Foundation™: Florence R., Prudence M., and Shanae R.
As a DAISY partner, Interstaff is honored to recognize nurses who demonstrate exceptional clinical skill and compassionate care. Florence and Prudence were the first nurses recognized through Interstaff’s new DAISY Award program, with their awards presented in person by our Chief Nursing Officer, Stacy Maitha. Shanae was also recognized as a DAISY Award Honoree by her hospital’s leadership team, reflecting the meaningful impact she has had on patient care.
What Is The DAISY Award?
The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is an international recognition program that celebrates nurses who provide extraordinary, compassionate care and clinical excellence to patients and their families.
The program was created by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died from complications of the autoimmune disease Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). During his hospitalization, his family experienced firsthand the compassion and clinical skill of the nurses who cared for him. In gratitude, they established The DAISY Foundation to recognize the extraordinary work nurses do for patients and their families every day.

“Prudence provided attentive, patient-centered support to both patients and their families, sitting with them to create pain plans, offering comfort during overwhelming moments, and helping them feel relieved and at ease. She showed patience and kindness to patients with physical and mental challenges and continued checking on patients even after her shift. Her professionalism and exceptional bedside manner left patients feeling forever grateful.”
